SBC Week 8: Family Christmas Celebrations

Hi, it’s hmsleilani and today I am going to explain to you guys how my family and I celebrate Christmas.

Christmas is a very important holiday that my family celebrates. We use to celebrate at our dad’s restaurant. Now, we celebrate at our uncle’s house, with a Christmas tree, Santa Claus, and lots of food and presents. We always find lots of presents underneath the Christmas tree for people. I am always excited to unwrap my presents and see what’s inside. My most favorite part about Christmas is the unwrapping part for my presents.

We have a bunch of people there. Some people are people who we don’t even know. There are a bunch of delicious foods that are put out to eat. There are sometimes Christmas songs playing. Whenever Santa Claus comes out, we use to play a Christmas song as his entrance. Our baby cousin always cries because he doesn’t like loud noises and loud songs. Christmas with my family can be really big because I have a pretty big family. We normally celebrate with our dad’s side of the family during the holidays.

What we normally do whenever we hand out presents is we have an assistant help out Santa Claus. The assistant tells Santa who the gift goes to and then Santa will call out the name of the person and hand over the gift. We would get about 9 or 10 presents each year, but as we get older eventually we will start to not get as many presents. The kids would get the most presents because it is really easy getting them something.

That’s all for today, what is your favorite holiday to celebrate?

SBC Week 7: Showering My Dogs

Hi, it’s hmsleilani

Today I m going to talk about my experiences while showering my dogs.

I have 3 dogs and they are crazy. Whenever they see a dog or someone coming, they bark very loud. My dogs also hate showers, they never like it. We pretend to be not taking a shower for them so that they can run around and not try to hide from us. Our dogs do hide from us and act like they aren’t even there so they can get out of showering. Taking a shower for our dogs can be very stressful.

I never really like showering my dogs. Especially the biggest one, which is a corgi mix. He tries to get out of the shower when he still has soap on and attempts to climb out of the sink. The next biggest dog isn’t as bad. He still tries to shake off the soap that is on him. The smallest dog is the easiest dog to shower. She is very still and doesn’t try to get out of the shower.

When I was showering my dogs on time, one of them jumped out of the sink and ran into his little house. He was still wet and It felt so uncomfortable to carry him when he is wet and I am not. My dogs are super happy whenever they get out of the shower. We try to stall some time before we bring them into the shower because they will know that if we bring them into the shower fast, then they will start to get scared and just hide from us. Which is really cute and funny at the same time.

That’s all for today, I hope you guys enjoyed my experiences of taking a shower for my dogs.

My Best Work In Trimester One

Hi, it’s hmsleilani and today I am going to show you guys one of my best works that I have done in trimester one.

This is my “I went without project”. This project lasted for a week because we had to go a week without using s certain app on your phone. I recorded my week with my “I went without” project and it gave detail of what I did and explained how I used my time without using snapchat. I chose this piece because it showed how much I use snapchat each day, and going without it for a week made quite a difference. I don’t use it very often now, but I still use it at certain times.

This is showing what we use in school for wordly wise. This website has many different activities that you have to do. The activities are really fun, mostly the one where you have to draw the word out. I chose this piece because I feel like this really makes a difference in your vocabulary and teaches you new words that you haven’t heard of before.

This is a website called IXl. We use this website most of the time in math and language arts. You get a problem and if you answer it correctly, then your score will go up and if you get one wrong, then your score will go down. If you reach the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s then you will get medals in different colors each. I chose this piece because it also tells you how many minutes you spent working on the app and how many problems you did, which could be really helpful because then you will know what you need to work on while you are doing a problem.

This website is called Discovery Education. I think that this website is very useful. You can pick which subject you want to learn and what you want to learn. I chose this piece because this website really helped me learn more things and there are videos you get to watch and learn from.

That’s all for today,
