Hi, it’s hmsleilani and today I am going to name science words that start with the letters of the alphabet in order from A to Z.

A. Atmosphere: The envelope of gases surrounding the earth or another planet.

B. Black Hole: A region of space having a gravitational field so intense that no matter or radiation can escape.

C. Core: The tough central part of various fruits, containing the seeds.

D. Density: The degree of compactness of a substance.

E. Energy: The strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity.

F. Fusion: The process or result of joining two or more things together to form a single entity

G. Gravity: The force that attracts a body toward the center of the earth, or toward any other physical body having mass.

H. Hydrogen: A colorless, odorless, highly flammable gas, the chemical element of atomic number 1.

I. Ion: An atom or molecule with a net electric charge due to the loss or gain of one or more electrons.

J. Jupiter: Is the fifth planet from the Sun and the largest in the Solar System

K. Kourou: A town in N central French Guiana; site of the European Space Agency’s launch and research base.

L. Lens: A piece of glass or other transparent substance with curved sides for concentrating.

M. Mass: A coherent, typically large body of matter with no definite shape.

N. Nucleus: The central and most important part of an object, movement, or group, forming the basis for its activity and growth.

O. Opposition: Resistance or dissent, expressed in action or argument.

P. Proton: A stable subatomic particle occurring in all atomic nuclei, with a positive electric charge equal in magnitude to that of an electron, but of opposite sign.

Q. Qualification Model: A special skill, knowledge, or ability that makes someone suitable for a particular job or activity.

R. Radiation: The emission of energy as electromagnetic waves or as moving subatomic particles, especially high-energy particles that cause ionization.

S. Spectrum: A band of colors, as seen in a rainbow, produced by separation of the components of light by their different degrees of refraction according to wavelength.

T. Telescope: An optical instrument designed to make distant objects appear nearer, containing an arrangement of lenses, or of curved mirrors and lenses, by which rays of light are collected and focused and the resulting image magnified.

U. Universe: All existing matter and space considered as a whole; the cosmos.

W. Wavelength: The distance between successive crests of a wave, especially points in a sound wave or electromagnetic wave.

X. X-Ray: An electromagnetic wave of high energy and very short wavelength, which is able to pass through many materials opaque to light.

Y. Yttrium: The chemical element of atomic number 39, a grayish-white metal generally included among the rare earth elements.

Z. Zoology: The scientific study of the behavior, structure, physiology, classification, and distribution of animals.
